6 Steps to Get Blogs Posting about You and Your Business

When people blog, that’s always about a popular product, or a company, and when they blog, people always read it because the blogs are somehow a review of it. One of the things you want to do is to get blog postings about you and your business – that way, it will increase traffic as well as increase in your popularity, meaning to say – more sales.

1. Engage With Them Socially And In The Comments

Start the conversation with the blogger or the journalist, in fact before you even want the article to come out, and before you even want them to write about you. Authors love to hear from the readers, they love hearing feedbacks. Why not tell them how much you love it and that will surely attract them. Interact and keep on commenting. The goal of commenting is to develop a relationship. Read their blogs or tweets and comment on it and say something positive.

2. Email Tips

The next thing you wanted to do is E-mail them. Subject lines are very important. In reality, 33% of email recipients choose whether or not to open an email by just reading the subject line. That’s why you’re subject line needs to be attractive enough to get people to click through. A good way to have a good subject line is to ask questions. People love curiosity and when they’re curious they wanted to know what the answer to it is. Also, you can include a video on the email. They might not read it if you put in a long article in your email. Keep it short. When you send an email though, your goal is to get people read it and nobody wants to read a very lengthy email.

3. Multiply Your Buzz

Don’t be afraid to use fake emails and names. Use these multiple emails and names to have good feedback on your company so bloggers would think that your site or business is really cool and it will make them want to write about it. Same goes as multiple emails and multiple comments, it will really attract people. You might want to have 2 names or emails commenting on a specific post to create traffic, and that may actually help you win most commented post and that author would want to write another article about you because the first one is so popular. The thing about having all these stuff is making a name for yourself. People will think that your company must be pretty popular because of all these people are talking about it.

4. Send Them Products

Bloggers love to write about something most specially if they’ve experienced it or saw it. If you wanted bloggers and influencers to write about you, don’t send them just boring stuff, check their interest and ask them what they want. Wrap it nice, have a good box and high quality letter. Think about the whole unboxing experience, when you opened the package that was sent to you, make sure to use your imagination and be creative.

5. Tell A Good Story

If you are familiar with the famous 3 act structure popularized by Shakespeare, use that to tell a god story. Or you might want to check that out if you’re not familiar. But here’s a simple summary of it. Start from the beginning, like how the world was or how things were before your company existed; then at the middle, tell a story of what your company offers, and what you’re exactly doing. And finally – the utopia you’re creating, what it is right now and what happened after.

6. Top Tips

Here are my top tips and hints that will be very useful to you.

a. Tell the journalist you will share the article – if they will take time to write about your site, why not return the favor and tell them you will share it on your site or promote it on Facebook. These journalists wanted to have as much traffic on their blogs as possible too.

b. Think about what’s newsworthy about what you’re doing, tell the blogger a cool stuff on your site, and they can make a good story out of it.

c. Make it about the news. Maybe it’s not about you, or probably you’re just a part of it.

d. Keep trying. You will surely get a lot of pushbacks, resistance, people may not respond to you, just keep on sending them emails until they notice you or until they tell you to stop. Be respectful obviously, but if the first time you shoot them an email and they don’t respond, just keep on trying.
