Here are the 7 Secrets to Successful Facebook Ads:

1. Highly Targeted Interest Targeting
2. Remarketing
3. Upload Email Lists
4. Look Alike Audiences
5. Lead Ads
6. Video Views
7. Create Social Proof

Why Facebook Ads?

At first, Google Adwords was so cheap and so affordable. But, as it gained popularity to online marketers Google Adwords became expensive. Today, Facebook ads are still cheap so marketers have to take advantage of it now while it is still cheap.

Highly Targeted Interest Targeting

Facebook advertising enables you to target very specific people, very specific demographic. Through Highly Targeted Interest Targeting, Facebook allows you to narrow down further your target audience, so narrowed that it will definitely help you target the ones that exactly represent your target market. For example, in my company Bdancewear.com, I am targeting women as my target audience. With Facebook ads I am able to narrow it down to women in the U.S., with an income of more than $50000 a year, who belongs to a specific age range, who has a daughter and who likes my competitors’ sites. This way, I can have exactly the group of people who will most likely buy from my ecommerce store.

This is exactly what people have been dreaming about since marketing first started. You are able to target those people that are potentially interested to your product.

Remarketing

This is another powerful tool that targets those who have been to your site but were not able to purchase anything. Through Facebook remarketing they are able to see your ad on their Facebook account and when they click it they’ll be taken back to your website to hopefully be able to buy this time. This is so profitable and you will be surprised with the amazing ROI that you can get from this kind of advertising.

Remarketing also increases your chances of having repeat customers. Just because someone has already bought something from you that does not mean that you will no longer advertise to them. For example, if it has been sixty days since their last purchase from your website you can think about running ads to them and remind them again about your company.

Upload Email Lists

This enables you to upload email lists of people whom you want to be shown your ads on Facebook. This is really cool because it allows you to take emails of your customers and upload them to Facebook. It is one way to tell Facebook that those people who owned those emails you uploaded are your target audiences and that you want Facebook to show your ad to these people. If these people’s emails are associated with their own Facebook account, chances are they will be able to see your ads on their Facebook account. I used this before with anyone who bought from me but hasn’t been able to for the last six months. I mean they’ve already bought from me, they’ve already known my brand, but they haven’t been buying from me lately.

Look Alike Audiences

When you upload your email list (i.e. your customers’ emails) on Facebook they will then give you back a million lists of those people who “look-alike” the type of audience that you have. By uploading the lists of emails of your customers, you are giving Facebook the chance to figure out the “one thing in common” among these people in your email list. Then Facebook will find more people like that in your email list. Facebook will try to make it easier for you to show your Facebook ads to the correct people. The minimum number of email that you can upload to Facebook is 200. But, you can send up to a hundred thousand. So, through “look-alike audiences” you can tell Facebook to find more people that have similarities and things in common with the kind of target audience that you have. Basically, you can have one million more potential customers through “look-alike audiences”.

Lead Ads

This enables your customers to sign up or give their information to you via Facebook without having to leave their Facebook page. They can share their information without the need to go to another landing page. This is better for Facebook, for users, for Facebook themselves and for you as a marketer. Lead ads are making it easier for people to give their information to you through Facebook.

There is no need for a landing page. With other types of advertising, you will be asked to click someone’s website link and then it will take you to their landing page. But, with lead ads, people won’t have to leave Facebook. This would mean people won’t have to go their email, or to your website, just to be able to sign up because lead ads can allow them to subscribe or sign up to your ads directly on their Facebook account.

Video Views

Facebook is trying to make videos more popular than the ones on YouTube. This is extremely powerful and very cheap. You will be able to get a thousand views for like a few pennies only. This ad is competing with YouTube. But, with Facebook it is more eye catching. Imagine yourself just scrolling down to your Facebook account and then you will see an image moving, it is just so eye catching as videos posted on Facebook will automatically play as you scroll down to them. The key here is to put your link under the video description. It’s not just about people being able to view your video. But it is more on giving them the chance to click on the link that takes them to your website and ultimately give you their email.

Create Social Proof

In Facebook, if you see a website that has 10,000 likes and the other one only has a hundred likes, which one do you think you will more likely to buy from? Obviously, you will buy from the website that has ten thousand likes. Just seeing the number of likes that your company has on Facebook your audience will immediately get an impression that your company is legit, reputable and serious. And that you are not like any other companies that only scams people. By seeing that you’ve got a thousand likes, people will no longer ask whether your company is legit or not. They won’t have to ask if they can trust you once they send out the details of their credit card to you.
