That means they are potential customers that can boost your business. Through this guide, you will learn how to optimize your online Pinterest marketing strategy for creating sales.

Tip 1: Good Pin Practices

Good images are very important when pinning. Don’t just show a product in a Pinterest pin. A better way is to hook the viewers in by showing them something that they want to pin and share. For example if there is a protein company, instead of just using a picture of the product it would be more interesting to show how you can use it in a recipe. A protein shake with pictures of the different steps will attract any viewer by far over a simple picture.

Tip 2: Long Pins Do Well

The reason for their proven success is because long pins take up more space and tell a story. At BDancewear we do how to DIY (Do it Yourself) costume pins and show step by step of the process. It tells the story sequentially and is visually appealing which attracts the viewer causing them to look at your more into your pin.

Tip 3: Make Sure and “SEO” Pin Description

Pinterest is actually a search engine; a lot of people go on Pinterest and search for many things like DIY ideas, how to bake a cake…etc. One of the things you can do is research. Find the keywords that your customers are searching for and using, then include those in the description, and image title. You still want to keep a good quality description making sure to sprinkle in these keywords. Pinterest is now more likely to show your pin over the competitors.

 Tip 4: Rich Pins

Rich pins are special because they can do things like show a price, and there are many different ones out there that you can research. They basically have extra date other than regular boring pins such as showing a price. Rich pins are something you should look into especially if you have a Ecommerce store.

 Tip 5: Get the Email

A lot of people are not ready to buy especially on Pinterest because the customers are in searching mode. What you want to do is getting their email from the pin. It’s all about showing the product, getting the email, and then doing email marketing trying to get them to actually buy the product.

Tip 6: Get Ideas from Competitors

The last major tip is to look at your competitors; watch and learn. Maybe they’re are doing something that you aren’t, and they have ideas that you can use or be inspired by. Chances are you have competitors that are more established than yourself so look to them. For instance, I sell dance wear. Let’s say I didn’t have competitors that were more established, one tip I can is look at sites like Macy’s, Victoria Secret, or Lulu Lemon. I wouldn’t consider Lulu Lemon a direct competitor, but there are similarities. People who buy from Lulu Lemon are likely to by from me as well. So I would check out their Pinterest and see they do pins of healthy meals. That gives me ideas that I should start doing healthy meals for dancers. The other thing is these companies have bigger budgets, that means they are spending a lot more money and time making sure their Pinterest game is on point. See what you can learn from them, and what new ideas you come up with!
