Ecommerce Course Training Part 4 of 7 Social Media Marketing

In this lesson today we’re going to talk about social media for your ecommerce store now setting up social media is pretty easy to do I mean we’ve all done it before for our own site it’s pretty much the same for a business site but doing it properly and learning what the post and how to engage with your audience well that’s the key. So you can figure out how to grow your social media following and ultimately be able to sell more things through your ecommerce store. So let’s get started right now first off with social media we’re going to talk about in this lesson Facebook we’re talking about Pinterest YouTube Twitter and of course Instagram we’re talking about some more as well at the end of this video but those are probably the main ones I think right now snapchats another one that’s growing a pretty big following but it’s not as friendly for e-commerce store owners though we’ll talk about that later in this video.

So don’t worry about that but let’s dive into it like I said a bunch of other platforms will go into later. So why should you set up social media that is a question that I get a lot is like you know I’m trying to sell stuff on my e-commerce site why should I go set up a Facebook or other social media well a lot of reasons the first thing is social proof do you really want to buy from a store that only has  followers on Facebook or doesn’t even have a Facebook page at all no but if you go to the store and they have , followers on Facebook there’s no worry about giving them your credit card ‘coz you know this is an established credible business (more…)

Tips for Adding Products to Your Online Store

In this video I’m gonna give you six tips for adding products your ecommerce store we’re going to talk about things that are going to make it. So people may come to your site they’re more likely to buy your product enhancements that you can make on your product page. So the six tips I have for you the first one is to do keyword research will talk about in depth why this is. So important later in this video the next is to make sure that your products your SEO properly and give you some tips about that then we have good product description why that’s. So important high quality images big images and multiple angles. So we’re gonna talk about all these in this video why they’re important and some tips on how to make sure that you do these properly. So the first one I have for you is to do your keyword research now what should your product be name is a classic question there’s a good chance that you think the product should be called one thing but your customers think it should be called another thing. So my example here is these are the same product but some people would call this a highway show up some people would call it a foldover short which one should I call it well the answer is whatever one has more views more people are searching for a month and the way to find this out is through keyword research I have a link down below on how you can do keyword research properly but basically what you’re going to be doing is using the google keyword planner to figure out how often things are searched.

So how often is high-waist shorts search versus how often is fold over (more…)

Finding Negative Keywords For Adwords Using Matched Search Queries

In this video, I’m going to show you how to find negative keywords from the data that we found in the last videos in the last video we figured out what keywords are triggering our ads and that’s how we got this information here. So one of the first things you want to make sure and do is that it’s an ascending order based on pages per session and. So it should go from you knows up to your highest ones and the reason is if someone’s coming and clicking on an ad of yours using you know this keyword this ad and they’re looking at seven pages they’re probably pretty highly interested. So that’s less likely that we’re going to find negative keywords in that data but it’s highly likely that we will find negative keywords in the data up here because people are clicking on it and they’re not spending very much time on your website means that they aren’t getting what they expect. So what I basically have here is the match search query. So this is what people are actually typing into Google to find your ad then I have the campaign what campaign it triggers you can also include the ad group if you want but for right now I just have the campaign then in this row I will show how many clicks and most of it’s going to be one it’s how many times that exact neck or that exact search query has triggered that ad in this campaign and then pages per session obviously and the reason that’s important is like I said if you see something and let’s maybe I thought Irish dancing clothes I thought Irish dancing should be a negative keyword but then I look and I see well maybe (more…)

How to Find What People Are Searching For To Trigger Your Adwords Ads

In this video I’m going to show you how to find out what keywords what search queries are triggering your ads this works both for product listing ads and for regular text ads one of the first things we’re gone have to do though is hopefully you’ve done this before for your account if you haven’t then go ahead and select any time frame that you want but I have done this before and I see the last time that I did this was January third I keep this spreadsheet as a log of the changes I make there’s a bunch of different stuff that I use within this spreadsheet it’s basically keeps track of all the changes I make within my AdWords my PL a’s but right now the main thing I’m going to use it for is finding out the date the last time I did it was January third. So I’m going to start with January fourth I’ll show you what I’m talking about here. So I go in here and go to January fourth and then to today I’ll probably go to the 25th yes. So that’ll get all the data from January fourth to April twenty fifth and the reason I’m doing just that data is I don’t want there to be any overlap because if I go back farther than January fourth some of the negative keywords I would have already I would have already found an art he would have added. So i don’t want to have to do double the work. So from there we’re going to go to acquisition we’re going to go to AdWords and then search queries alright. So now you can see all the different search queries if you want you can add the secondary dimension advertising ad group (more…)

How to Make a Mobile Only Adwords Campaign

Despite what Google says mobile traffic does not convert as well as desktop and tablet in this episode I’m going to show you how to turn off your mobile traffic to your AdWords campaign. So you can save money hi I’m Travis with Effective Ecommerce and in this episode, this isn’t. So much a QA as it’s an issue I see over and over again when I’m reviewing AdWords campaigns or product listing ads campaigns now mobile traffic can convert fairly well but despite anything that you might read on google or other things generally speaking and there’s probably a few exceptions someone out there probably has an exception generally speaking mobile does not convert to the same level that desktop does and even if it does convert at the same level in a hypothetical world people are going to buy more the average order size on desktops going to be higher. So what does this mean this means you should have different bids for mobile than you do on desktop and tablet and in this video I’m going to show you how to do this step by step this is a really easy fix and for people that don’t want to see the full walkthrough all you have to do go into campaign settings mobile bid adjustment and set it to negative one hundred percent that’s really it but let me show you the full tutorial right now in this video I’m going to show you how to make it. So your campaign does not show on mobile. So it’s only on desktop and tablets. So the first thing you’re going to do is you’re going to go to your campaign that you want to make it only mobile. So in this example I’m going to do this campaign called (more…)

How to Get More Clicks to Your Product Listing Ads AKA Google Shopping Ads

Product Listing Ads are probably my favorite type of PPC advertising I’ve ever encountered they work just. So great but the question I get extremely often is how do I get more clicks to my product listing ads campaigns and the answer is coming up in just a second hi I’m Travis with effective e-commerce and in this video I’m gonna tell you how to get more clicks to your PLA campaigns it’s a Wednesday which means it’s Q&A day and this is a question I had from one of my private coaching clients and they asked me how do I get more clicks to my PLA ads the great thing about PLA s is they work they tend to convert better than almost any kind of paid advertising that I’ve seen but one of the problems is at the beginning it might be hard to get a lot of clicks to them and there’s a few different answers and some of the answers you might not like as much as others the first one is if you want to get more clicks increase your bit that’s the quick fast and dirty answer but there’s some other things that we should think about here the other way to do it is to add more of your products a lot of people don’t have all their products up on their PLA S or if they do they aren’t properly segmenting them and doing a bunch of stuff I’ll talk about in another episode. So that’s one thing is make sure you have you increase your bids that’s one of the easiest and quickest ways to do it to increase the number of products you have available through your PLA s now the next thing is do you really want to increase your (more…)

New Facebook Ad Types Including Click to Call, Carousel and Dynamic Product Ads

Now when you’re doing your Facebook advertising there’s some new styles of ads that you can choose from including a call now button dynamic product listing carousel ads and much more in this video I’m going to tell you all about the new styles of ads you can use and how to best optimize them the first improvement going to talk about is the call now button which is perfect for online local businesses or any business where a call is the main purpose in the past people would have to look at your ad click on it go to your website and then make a call no more now with. So much mobile traffic coming through Facebook you don’t have to worry about going to the website and doing the call now thank the button is right on there. So they can just click directly from your advertisement in their Facebook feed calling right away now it’s might not be ideal for all types of businesses I know I person will probably not use this feature but I do know that a lot of businesses this could be absolutely an amazing addition next up and we’re going to talk about is dynamic product ads and these sync with your website and your product catalog to not only figure out what you should be selling but at the same time it makes it kind of an automated thing. So they’ll take the image they’ll take the title they’ll take the product description and automatically advertise in Facebook decides where it goes. So think of product listing ads but instead it’s Facebook dynamic product ads this is probably not going to be quite as good is the product listing ads on Google because the difference of course is people are not searching (more…)
