Which Type of Facebook Ad to Post

In this video, we are going to be talking about a question I get all the time which is what type of Facebook Ad to post. I know you are going to want an answer for this. The truth is, there is not one single answer but hopefully this video will give you some ideas on where you should go next and hopefully help you be able to figure out for yourself what kind of ad you should post. So, I have talked about this in previous videos – all the different types of ads that you can post. There are video ads. There are conversion ads. They just click, link, click ads. There is a page like ads. There are more ads than that, even lead ads which is one of my personal favorites.

Which type of Facebook Ad you should post depends on a lot of things. I would say if you are trying to get exposure for your brand, video ads are probably one of the best ways. With a video ad, you will be able to get a lot of people viewing your ad for very cheap.

If you are trying to get email conversions, you want Alhea. Alhea is my personal favorite ad because all it does is it shows someone an ad and all they have to do is click two buttons and they have given you their email which is just amazing.

Then, of course, there is getting clicks to websites. Now, some people tell me that these work better than lead ads and they are cheaper to get than leads. So, I would try that out. If you are trying to make sales on a product, getting clicks to your website or conversion definitely are the best ones.

There are a lot of different options here. A lot of people like to do a kind of a mix of all of them. Maybe you show people a video first and anyone that is watched up to 70% of that video, you would then show them a click ad meaning that, you know, they pay you every time someone clicks on it and it takes them to their website. So, maybe I would do a video ad about Bdancewear and our dance products. Then, if I see they watch 70% or more of the video, the next ad would be like, “Hey, here is an article about our clothing” or it could be just a picture of one of our items saying, “Hey, buy it now.

Carousel ads are another great type of ad. If you are trying to sell the people that already know about our brand, for instance, carousel ads are nice because you can show all the different products that you have. People can scroll through click the different products.

So, the type of Facebook Ad you should run depends. If you are really new to Facebook and you really are just looking to bootstrap the ad doing it in a lean startup style, I recommend lead ads. They are very simple to set up and you get that valuable email pretty much right away as opposed to video ads which takes a lot of work making a video if you do not already have a video or other type of ad. For click ads, you need some kind of an email capture.

I do not recommend sending people directly to your product. It can work. I know people that it works for but the truth is most people that are browsing on Facebook are not looking to buy something right away. There are exceptions for certain types of products. However, for that your average consumer the best bet is to get their email and then sell to them down the line.
